   2023 Columbia Triad Chapter Woman of the Year

Jeanette’s professional journey started 1989 in Chicago, Illinois where she was employed with Merrill Lynch and Kemper Investor Life Insurance Company.  In 1996 she relocated to Columbia, South Carolina. Three years later she became a successful business owner of Better Years Childcare Center, Inc. Which remained open for 5 years until she made the decision to become a State Government Employee in 2005.  In 2022 she obtained her Real Estate License and is currently a successful Realtor with Coldwell Banker Midtown.

Jeanette obtained a Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree from Central Michigan University.

Over the years, Jeanette has volunteered with various organizations in the Midlands including: Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonalds House and United Way of the Midlands. She also volunteered for the Girl Scouts Council of the Congaree Area as a Girl Scouts troop leader for 2 years.  She’s currently active with the Columbia Triad Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, (ABWA) where she servers as Co-chair of Membership and United Way of the Midlands Women in Philanthropy.

Jeanette is a member at the Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, Columbia, SC.  She loves serving the Lord and giving him all the glory while she serves as an Usher and works with the Children Ministry over the past 25 years.

Jeanette lives by her motto: “Nothing beats a failure but a try”. 

 Doris Harrison

Doris Harrison is a National Board-Certified License Professional Counselor in the state of SC,  She is a  Certified Anxiety Informed Professional, Certified Clinical Anxiety Trauma Professional, Certified Integrated Mental Health Professional,Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Professional, Certified Telehealth Counselor, Certified Grief Counselor.

 Doris is a member of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professionals. She’s an appointed member of the S.C. Notary Public, and  a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,Inc.  She is a national/ local member of the Columbia Triad American Businesswomen Association (ABWA) and past 2021-2022 Businesswoman of the Year and past Vice President of her local chapter.

 She is a graduate of Newberry College and received her dual master’s degree in counseling/ Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in 2006.  Her background consists of developmental-behavioral modification in autism spectrum disorder and other mental health related disorders. She’s a seasoned 24-year specialist trained and experienced in counseling with a specialty in mental health, developmental disabilities and family therapy.  her therapeutic goal and aim is to foster the understanding of healthy living. 

Doris’s motto is live each day to the fullest, capture the essence of creation as if it’s your last.

Gerri is a retired educator who work part-time as a substitute teacher in Richland County School District One, Columbia, South Carolina.  She has worked with children and adults of all ages in the classroom and local communities throughout the state of South Carolina for 35+ years.

Gerri love promoting others in pursuit of personal as well as professional goals.    She enjoys her life’s work and passion for helping other grow.  Gerri joined the American Business Women Association (ABWA) in 2022.    Gerri see herself as an aspiring entrepreneur in real estate and rental properties.  Being a member of ABWA, along with my faith, has helped me do a lot of self-evaluations which has culminated into a boast in my confidence to take more calculated risks in growing my business. 

 Gerri can be described as selfless and have a heart for helping people become the best they can be with whatever talent and/or gifts they possess.
